Lauren Coughlin may have been a late-bloomer in her career, but she was outstanding in her Solheim Cup debut, winning more points (3.5) than any player on either team. When things looked a little dicey for the Americans on Sunday, she overcame a three-hole deficit down the stretch to earn a crucial half point against Maja Stark. Coughlin won the Aramco Championship earlier this year for her third LPGA win in the last two seasons and enters the week in good form off four consecutive top-20 finishes. -Kevin Van Valkenburg

Allisen Corpuz

Allisen Corpuz has yet to lose in foursomes in two appearances, boasting a 4-0-0 record alongside Nelly Korda, so you can expect those two to run it back again in the Netherlands. The 28-year-old has just one win on her career resume, the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, but has played well this year with five top-10 finishes, including her last start at the FM Championship (third). -Adam Woodard

Lindy Duncan

Solheim Cup Experience: First appearance

Lindy Duncan was an interesting pick to say the least. The 35-year-old will make her Solheim Cup debut despite a lackluster season with just one top 10 and a next-best finish of T-15, all before May of this year. As far as current form is concerned, she missed four of the five cuts at majors, managing a T-61 at the Women’s British Open, and hasn’t cracked the top 30 since June. It’ll be interesting to see how Stanford deploys her event rookie and professional veteran. -Adam Woodard

Megan Khang

Will Megan Khang find some glimmer of good form at Bernadus? That’s arguably the most intriguing question in the lead-up to this week. The captain’s pick has had an abysmal year, missing the cut in almost half the events she’s played. Zero top 10s, only one top 20. Her low round of the year is a 67. Not great. Sure, she’ll bring the energy and positivity to the team room, but I don’t see how Khang can repeat the incredible success she’s had at previous Solheim Cups. She’s been good for at least three points in the past two editions. If you take that away, the path to the red, white, and blue retaining the cup gets very murky. -Meg Adkins

Auston Kim

Solheim Cup Experience: First appearance

A breakout 2025 season for Auston Kim laid the groundwork for the 26-year-old to qualify for her first Solheim Cup team. At the start of last year, Kim was ranked 156th in the world. A runner-up finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA helped Kim jump all the way to 45th in the world by the end of the season. Her strong play continued at the start of the 2026 season, and a series of close calls during the Asian swing helped Kim keep on climbing, not only in the world ranking, but also the Solheim Cup standings. With an average driving distance of 280 yards, good for fourth on Tour, Kim will be an attractive fourball option. Don’t overlook the work Kim’s put in on other areas of the game. She has positive strokes gained in all the major categories and could become a player captain Angela Stanford leans on all week. -Meg Adkins

Nelly Korda

It’s almost refreshing that the most talented and accomplished player on the American side has also been exceptional in the Solheim Cup for her country, because it certainly hasn’t worked that way in the Ryder Cup. (Tiger Woods would love to have a record like Korda’s.) She was awesome two years ago at Robert Trent Jones, going 3-0-0 with a partner to help the United States build a big lead before she ran out of gas in a Sunday singles match against Charley Hull. But by then, Korda had been exactly the superstar the United States needed, not just with her play but with her leadership and personality. It was one of the first times in her career where she truly looked comfortable in the spotlight. American captains have resisted the urge to play her in all five matches (she’s never done it in four appearances) so you can expect her to sit at least one session. But Korda should definitely play in both foursomes sessions because she’s historically been one of the strongest players on both teams in that format. She went 0-2 in 2021, but she is 6-0 in her other three Solheim Cups playing alternate shot. -Kevin Van Valkenburg

Jennifer Kupcho

Jennifer Kupcho, the former top-ranked amateur in the world, introduced herself to the women's golf scene by winning the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2019. She captured her first LPGA win at the 2022 Chevron Championship and has ripped off three other victories since. Touted for her strong iron play and competitive edginess, Kupcho has become a valuable match-play asset in her three Solheim Cup appearances. She has quietly put together a solid 2026 season, and I wouldn't be shocked to see her kick her game up another gear this week. -Matthew Galloway

It’s hard to believe Alison Lee is still winless on the LPGA. A two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour, Lee brings a bit of Solheim Cup experience with two previous appearances, but doesn’t have much to show for a record. Lee’s lone point in 2024 came alongside Megan Khang in fourballs, so look for that pairing to potentially team up again this weekend. This season, Lee has three top-10 finishes to her name, including a T-5 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. -Adam Woodard

Andrea Lee has established herself as a dependable presence on the U.S. team, earning her third consecutive appearance this year. The former Stanford standout was a prominent amateur, spending 17 weeks as the world’s No 1 amateur before turning pro in 2019. Andrea won her first LPGA event at the 2022 Portland Classic and has steadily built a reputation for her consistency and accuracy, playing a graceful, simple style of golf. Look to see Lee pair up with former Stanford teammate Rose Zhang again after two big wins in fourball in 2024. -Matthew Galloway

Yealimi Noh went 2-1-0 in her Solheim Cup debut in 2021 as a captain’s pick but earned her way on points this year despite an inconsistent season. The 25-year-old has missed nine of 18 cuts on the LPGA and has just one top 10, a third-place showing at the AIG Women’s Open. Noh sat both foursomes sessions in 2021, and it will be interesting to see how Angela Stanford deploys her this year. -Adam Woodard

Angel Yin

Angel Yin burst onto the LPGA scene loudly in 2017 at 18 years old with her bold, aggressive play. Her enormous talent and five top-10  finishes caught the eye of U.S. Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster, who used a captain’s pick on her in 2017. The California native has long been one of the LPGA’s most naturally gifted ball-strikers, and her breakout came in 2023 when she finished runner-up at the Chevron Championship before winning the LPGA Shanghai later that year. She has remained one of the best putters on the LPGA since. One of the more captivating characters in the women's game, you never know what Angel will say or do next, except make a lot of birdies. I would be remiss not to mention a sidelining stomach issue this season that she's just now recovering from. Down a total of 35 pounds, her status and the state of her game for this Solheim Cup will definitely be something to monitor. -Matthew Galloway

Rose Zhang

A month ago, Rose Zhang struggled through spasms and “clickiness” in her back at the Portland Classic. If Angela Stanford had a panic button, she would’ve been completely justified in pressing that thing. Fortunately, it seems like Zhang’s health is on the up and up after a strong T-4 finish two weeks ago in Boston. She’s got some serious work ahead of her to match her MVP performance from the 2024 Solheim Cup. Zhang cruised all week to a 4-0-0 record. Of her four wins, three were closed out on the 14th hole. Her opponent on Sunday, Carlota Ciganda, had only lost once in six previous Solheim Cup singles matches. Zhang dispatched her, 6 and 4. Stanford’s going to need points from her captain’s pick. They’re most likely to come from Rose Zhang. -Meg Adkins
