Walnut Creek Golf Preserve

Nestled between a wildlife refuge and metropolitan airport, Walnut Creek provides the ideal golf escape in Denver. The front nine dances around Walnut Creek and plays over broad, rolling slopes while the back nine opens up to an expansive prairie landscape. Despite the prominence of office buildings on the front nine, the course boasts stunning views of the front range and Boulder Flatirons. Additionally, aviation enthusiasts will be in awe of the constant plane activity directly adjacent to the back nine. Highlights include the dynamic stretch of Nos. 3-5, as well as the par-5 13th that climbs a dramatic slope, and the par-3 14th that plays off of it. All of the holes lay across the native landscape gracefully, making for a splendid walk despite a few routing hiccups. At a peak rate of $78, Walnut Creek falls near the very top of the list for best public golf around the Denver metro with its consistent conditioning and quality design.

Clear for takeoff. As a nod to the busy airport neighbor, the course flies windsocks at the end of the flagsticks instead of a traditional flag. Nice!
