Hello Everybody!

I'm heading down to Melbourne in a couple of weeks with some friends and will be playing some of the big dogs in the area, but I am going to stick around awhile and play more solo, and maybe pop over the 7 mile beach.

What are some good spots to hit up in Melbourne that are a reasonable price? Has anyone taken the train out to Warrnambool for a day trip from the CBD? That seems like a fun adventure, but 7 hours on a train in a day is a lot.

I will be traveling to Naples area in February and curious to get opinions on courses in that area. It seems the public scene is pricey and mediocre. I watched a bit of the Grant Thornton last week to see some of Tiburon, which looked good, just expensive.

Perhaps a long shot but would be good to hear from any FEGCers in NZ. I'm based in Auckland but always happy to travel for golf. Will be in Aus for much of May 2026 and looking to play some golf in Tassy and Melbourne if that broadens the net.

40 y/o, married with kids, no interest in fighting!

I'll be in the Sarasota area over the holidays (week in between Christmas and New Years) on a family vacation and I'm looking to sneak out for a round or two. Any recommendations in the area? I'm looking at public courses, but I'm a member at a club in Chicago so any private courses that are accessible with the old pro phone call approach are also a possibility (have had mixed success with that in the past).

I'm looking for a fun and playable vacation round - I don't really care about conditioning or non-golf course amenities. University Park and the Ross course at Bobby Jones were the options that seemed to pop up most via google.

Hey everyone. I thought it would be good to get this going for the NYC area. Always down to get out for a round and occasionally hit the sim in the winter. 31 married w/ no kids

Planning a trip to Cabot Citrus Farms in March. Anyone have a suggestion for a course near the PIE airport where we can play after a 12:30 arrival and get the round in before dark?

I haven't been able to play much the last couple years due to a family health issue, but am going to try to hit the links a bunch more in 2026 on.

My favorite courses in the area in the affordable/public tier are St John's (Elkton), Stillwater, Jax Beach, or Eagle Landing. Hyde Park too when it is in good shape.

I live in Southwest Houston. Primarily play around there (River Pointe, Meadowbrook Farms), but will go all across the Houston metro.

Favorite courses in the Houston area are Eagle Pointe, High Meadow Ranch, and Bearkat Course in Huntsville. Gus Wortham and Memorial Park are also great.

On the shelf currently (rehabbing after knee surgery), but should be good to go come spring time and would love to play with fellow FEGC members!
