How Jackson Kahn Delivered Dunes to the Dunes Course

When Jackson Kahn were hired to reimagine the Dunes Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, one thing was clear: there weren't enough dunes. Originally built in 1926, the course has ties to Seth Raynor (who died before construction), Alister MacKenzie, and Robert Hunter. Renovations had left the course feeling detached from the picturesque and varied landscape, and after a Mike Strantz renovation of the Shore Course in 2004, members weren't playing it as often. In came Jackson Kahn and their goal of not only reintroducing dunes to the property but giving the entire course a more cohesive feel as it moves from the forest to the ocean and back into the forest.
A special thanks to Jackson Kahn for access to their construction imagery and video.
