After a tumultuous tenure as LPGA commissioner, Mollie Marcoux Samaan will resign, effective January 9, 2025.
The tour made the announcement on Monday morning just a week removed from the conclusion of a 2024 season that featured both plenty of highs and lows. Despite record purses across all events, the tour lost key sponsors for the 2025 season. Nelly Korda had a season for the history books and Lydia Ko played her way into the hall of fame, but the tour failed to capitalize on the growth of women’s sports, most notably with the Solheim Cup shuttle disaster.
Marcoux Samaan had massive shoes to fill when she was hired in 2021 to replace former commissioner Mike Whan, who left the tour to become the CEO of the USGA. She was just the second woman to become commissioner following Carolyn Bevins and the tour’s ninth commissioner overall.

Liz Moore, who currently serves as the LPGA’s Chief Legal and Technology Officer and Corporate Secretary, will be the Interim Commissioner while the tour looks for Marcoux Samaan’s replacement.
