The Horse Course at the Prairie Club is a concept of golf that needs to be replicated more often. This short course has nine greens, “10 holes,” and free-flowing short-grass turf for a choose-your-own-adventure style of golf. Simply pick a flagstick to aim for and play the hole as you wish. While there is a suggested routing that allows you to play the course in a regimented and more standard way, there is unlimited optionality for how you choose to spend your time on this 10-acre playground. The conditions mimic the two big courses, allowing you to play a multitude of shots via aerial or ground pursuit. The greens are quite imaginative with big slopes that collect and repel shots, and a few of them sit right along the Snake River Canyon, providing some neat elevation changes and a dramatic backdrop.
This is the type of golf course that you and a group of friends could spend hours on while creating your own journey across the land. The Horse Course is a delightful way to end the day as the sun gets low. Do not miss this course on your visit to the Prairie Club.
