Rodney Dangerfield Fazio
November 1, 2025
I wonder if a lot of Fazio's "best" work being for clubs that don't care for - or even often avoid - fanfare hurts his notoriety in GCA circles. Places with a culture that offer minimal outside play, photography, events, etc. Some of his designs that come to mind for me - The Farm, Black Diamond Ranch, Galloway National, Pablo Creek, Forest Creek, Waterville, Karsten Creek - aren't what I would consider house hold names despite being having noteworthy holes & design elements. I also wonder if he's simply dug into his Ideal Client Profile (ICP), staying in his established lane building the next DLC course - Instead of trying to fight for the projects that C&C, Doak, Gil, DMK, Franz, etc. have been come to be known for. Pursue the projects you know you can win. Has he ever been given a Sand Hills-type, truly blank canvas? If so, I wonder what he could accomplish given total creative reign. I have to think the closest version of a project he's gotten like that is probably Shadow Creek.

Sooooooo, Tootsie Roll (snack bar size) is not the greatest? Child's Play is by far the best assortment. Then again, this is coming from someone who always went for one of the following at the gas station: Tootsie Roll, Charleston Chew, Necco Wafers, or Cow Tails. The best, Jerry, the best.

As a leader of another directly competing golf blog's dumbly named group for the Minnesota region, I feel personally attacked that you would star this rival dumbly-named group. I bet your going to come up with an even dumber proper group name, like East Sun FC or something.

Fegc Hole Design Contest Review November 5 At Noon Et
October 31, 2025
Next up: hole improvement contest, where you take an existing hole on a well known course and propose a feasible architectural improvement and/or redesign. It's hard to "design" a hole when you don't know the land.
