Ah, bummer. Yeah, we are taking the camper van to Vegas to visit in-laws for the week, likely pulling back into Napa on Sunday 11/30. Sorry I'll miss you.
Fond memories of Burma Superstar, glad to hear they are still awesome. Tried Lunette in the ferry building a few weeks ago during a visit really enjoyed it.
Great thread! I've enjoyed reading the responses.
1. Steam Burger at Tomo in Seattle. White Castle style done by a James Beard chef. Would have eaten 5-10.
2. Searching right now. My favorite, Bateau, shut down this summer and I've been at sea since.
3. Egg centric, scrambled. I do love a poached egg on any type of breakfast hash or bimbimbap
Definitely very different. I liked SH and thought the red sand bunkers were pretty unique as well as being able to play from the sand on off-line shots made for some fun recovery chances. And it definitely had a few more dramatic tee shots on the back side. I played the 9 hole at SH as well but it was in much worse shape than the championship course. Still fun but don't expect the same environment.
But I just think the course conditions at BD and having to actually consider the lava being in play is just super unique and fun. I would play both if able though.
Chris - I take it you are out of town over thanksgiving ? I misspoke when I said I was playing Poppy Ridge on Christmas eve. It is in fact over TG on Sat 11/29 as we are visiting to thanksgiving.
40, married, 2 kids, and jealous of your L&M upbringing at Spring Valley. Played there years ago, and I found it to be so enjoyable.
I'm based in Downers Grove now, and I wish I could play far more than I do.
Welcome back to Chicagoland.
Gophers fan here. Born after the seven national titles. Just happy to continue exploring the mid-tier Big 10 bowls; that's how bad it's been in my lifetime. But hey, pretty sure we can crack Wisconsin again this year, so that's nice!
