Crumpin Fox is the answer to the specific question, and Taconic if willing to drive an hour each way.

Curious to hear more about this. These days, I'm almost surprised when a new course—especially of the "destination" (private or public) variety—*does* have returning nines.

I think the idea that this course does not have returning nines is pretty interesting. I wonder what the story is there.

Golf Architecture Mailbag Podcast Call For Questions

This question may be too late in the queue for an answer on a podcast, but was not sure where else to post it. As a general matter, if you are visiting a new place and have an afternoon to get out for a round of golf, what factors do you weigh in deciding where to play? Assuming the location has no "notable" courses, are there things you can look at to say "this course might be interesting and thought provoking"? I ask because I am headed to "Northampton, MA" and have an afternoon. I appreciate you all!

It's very possible that Kettle Forge is a success if they can draw from the folks in the uber expensive Florida clubs looking for a summer escape. I don't think it will work, I predict eventual bankruptcy and emergence as another $500 public course, but we will see! More new golf courses > less new golf courses

Ryder Cup Gets Another Captain Holiday Golf Advice

Simple solution, just invoke a clear “you sky it you buy it” policy. Anyone capable of making a mark will either chicken out or has the $ and you get a new driver. Doesn’t apply to a collector / irreplaceable type. If you have one of those then it’s gotta be a blanket “no” policy.

Jacob, this made me realize there isn't an easy way to search for those on the new site. Let me work on that and get back to you! Looks like some didn't import properly. In the meantime, I would definitely check out the Routing Ballyneal with Tom Doak video - https://www.thefriedegg.com/articles/routing-ballyneal-with-tom-doak
