My luck with the August lottery for The Old Course tee times is unfortunately as successful as my lottery entries for Masters Tickets. So at 54, I finally decided to give it a better shot before my back stops being able to hit decent shots, so I just booked a weeklong AirBnB in St.Andrews and will enter the daily singles-queue. Worse case, it's a wonderful week with my wife and some rounds on the other Links Trust courses or somewhere nearby.My question to the broader group.

Is anyone else planning to be over there at that time. I ask because it would be nice to get a game together, but also it would be helpful to have a second shot at tee-times each day since a single can't be in the daily lottery (on 2, 3, or 4). So if you're going to be there and are willing to pair up on the daily lottery entry, please let me know (on here, or bgracely@gmail.com)

As I type this, the temperature has dropped to single digits again in Brantford. It is raining...again. And, shows almost no sign of good weather for the week at all.

However, good weather is surely ahead at some point. It has to be! So I would like to propose a spring meet-up somewhere in Southern Ontario. We have plenty of public options out there and I would be happy to try and arrange a round of golf for a group.

Maybe something in early June? This gives time for planning, trying to find an accomodating golf course who will allow us to book outside there reservation window and get a group together. Whether it is 4, 8 or 24, lets try to get something on the books.

I have had a few "society" members come play at Copetown Woods several time, as it is my local club and Barry is the best at helping with tee times. While not a member at Brantford, they have been happy to host before but more reluctant as of the past year or so. I am open to suggestions. Lets get something on the books!

My wife and I will be on Oahu for 12 hours on Sunday, May 3. I'd love to be able to get us out at Waialae, though it sounds pretty tough to do so on Sundays.

What other recommendations do you all have? Royal Hawaiian looks fun though a bit extreme. Mid-Pacific is/was a Raynor but is private and I don't think much of his work is left. There are tons of other options so I'm curious to hear your recs.

For anyone playing in the event at Lawsonia Links (or anyone in general), I have a tee time booked at Erin Hills on Sunday 9/13 (the day after the event) at 7:42am with two spots available if anyone is interested.

There are the other add-ons available through TFE, but I need to be back on the road a bit sooner so booked at Erin Hills early.

I am going to be driving down to Charlotte, NC for a work conference next week and was thinking of checking out Tot Hill Farm on the way, in all of its triumph and tragedy. This would be sometime in the afternoon of Tuesday, March 24.

Getting something on the books for us Ohio folks as winter starts showing some signs of cracking.

We are going to get the band together and start tuning up at Shale Creek.

We’ll see what kind of interest we get but we’re hoping to have 3 foursomes.

They book times two weeks out so we’ll get our initial block of times on April 12th.

Shale Creek has a pretty strict no show policy so we need to have our number locked in by Saturday, April 18th.
