Chocolate Drops Iowa Hawkeyes Golf Course Reimagined
September 16, 2025
Finkbine sent those of us on their email list the news that Hoffman had been selected to architect the redesign last week, but they did not mention in said email how extensive it was going to be, i.e. "Only two holes will really be recognizable to what they were before." Should be real interesting to see what the make of the land. The dual-green par 3 13th was always kind of the potential scorecard wrecker there: https://youtu.be/3YHqudJ5f5M as they could put the boxes in a lot of different places and lengths depending on which green you were playing to that day. Not too many holes like this here in Iowa.

September 2025 Virtual Hangout Chat With Kvv
September 16, 2025
KVV! So excited to see what you bring to FEG. While there’s a ton I could ask about, I’ll keep it to one golf-related question and a more fun, non-golf question. 1. Assuming your content may be more long-form writing / the narrative style you’ve demonstrated previously, will your upcoming work be centred around architectural stories or just golf in general? 2. If you could travel / re-visit any city in the three following areas where would you go and why? i) Canada, ii) USA, and iii) Europe. Can’t wait to see you flourish with this great team.

I think I’ve commented this every time Woodhill has been mentioned, but I will say it again: I love Woodhill and think it flies far under the in the MSP golf scene (at least partially on purpose). I can’t wait to see what Brian Schneider does to it.

Hypothetical. All the NFL QB’s are hurt and Brady can choose any team to takeover. Who’s he taking and why is it the Bears?

Congrats, KVV! A wise man once told me that the best teams stockpile talented people with positive attitudes, and a good leader will figure out how to put them in positions to succeed. Fried Egg Golf seems to be doing just that in the golf content space, and as a consumer, I couldn’t be more excited.

This may have been covered elsewhere. But is the E in the fried egg logo supposed to resemble the fairway bunker on the left side of number four at Bethpage? I was watching a breakdown of the hole and that jumped out at me as the drone went over

Belvedere Golf Club

Belvedere is truly delightful. A great walk, challenging yet playable, and one memorable hole after another. The greens are as pure as they come, and while the bunkers may be tame, the sand is perfect. Put this near the top of your list if you are in Northern Michigan. If you’re lucky, you’ll be paired with someone who knows the greens. They are tricky!
