Alright, I have a tee time booked at Golden Gate Park GC for 4 people on Wed, Nov 19, 2025 - 2:48 PM. So far its Chris, Matt, myself and one more open spot. There's also open foursomes before and after this tee time, although the 3pm tee time is the last of the day during the winter.

My Favorite Putting Drill

I like that drill. More people, IMO, should work on the three separate skills in putting independently, without necessarily trying to "make putts." You're only going to make about half of your 7-9' putts, ever… so most time spent practicing making putts is spent missing putts instead. We call them READ, BEAD (as in "drawing a bead"), and SPEED, and they're not in order. Speed or distance control is by far the most important. Green reading is second. Starting your ball on-line is less important (slightly more so with shorter putts). Most poor putters have really bad distance control, even on 10' putts. What's great for distance control? Ladder drills.

Love this idea, and Wednesday’s are great for the most part - Wednesday’s being a typical office day for my hybrid work schedule, office in San Bruno. 11/19 I can’t swing though. Thanks for the look. Next time!

A few that immediately come to mind: - Tree Farm - could lap that place on repeat - Brambles - has lived up to all the years of mystique & anticipation surrounding the project - Cabot St. Lucia - truly epic piece of property with plenty of substance outside of the signature holes - Sheep Ranch - probably the "weakest" on property, but still the most fun course to play, IMO - Dumbarnie - didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Add in nearby Elie & you have a wonderful 36 hole day with tons of variety between the two

Cookeville isn’t great for golf but Crossville has 5-6 courses that are pretty good. It is mountain golf which is hit or miss. I’m a member of Golden Eagle Golf Club which is just the Tennessee Tech course. It’s improving and they are planning on a bunker renovation that I think will make it a little better. Fall Creek Falls is a pretty good track that’s inbetween Chatt and Cookeville. I’m constantly fighting the battle whether it’s worth it to do a national membership at one of the Chatt or Knoxville courses. It’s about 90 minutes which makes it tough with two small kids, but Lookout Mountain or Holston Hills is tempting.

I’m there semi-often. Also play 9 at Ballwin on Saturday afternoons during my daughter’s nap time.

Lancaster County here as well! (On the Chester County line). 45 y/o, 3 kids, currently sitting in a hotel room at PGA Frisco while my boys (14 and 17) go around the Par 3 because I'm too old to move anymore after our round on Field's Ranch East followed by piles of BBQ. I digress but play out of Whitford and French Creek at home. Would love to tee it up!
