Said it on the course profile, but Pinehurst 10 is so much fun. It’s a great walk in the woods, I find the land fascinating, the routing has these nice little reveals along the way, lots of shot variety, and unreal green complexes. I could play it 10 times in a row.

Shadowglen #16. Disaster or just a tough hole? I can never decide.

I’m hopeful we’ll get some momentum with the carton as next season approaches. With our excellent public offerings around the region, I could see monthly meetups at places like Sleepy Hollow, Manakiki, Fowler’s Mill and others in different areas so we spread the commute time around for the participants. I think it would be cool if we have enough interest to play some team matches or even challenge other cartons in Ryder Cup style events. Overall, just really happy to have this option and definitely willing to work on logistics to make some of these gatherings or playing opportunities happen. The no kids aspect gives me a bit more bandwidth to these kinds of things.

Don't really have a least favorite, but I think Old Town Club is one of the best designed courses in the U.S. just pitch perfect from beginning to end. And the original nine at Prairie Dunes is probably the greatest nine-hole course ever built. As for holes, 12 at OTC and 8 at PD are absolute bangers.

I know it's not really fair, but the Lido, almost without question.

I've only played one Maxwell. Riverside GC in Austin (former home of Austin CC, now all-but-forgotten muni). I'd say #5 is the hole I find most memorable. It's like a downhill, reverse Eden hole.

What is tea tree and what are the issues around it?

The Loop is the newest one I think about all the time. Played Arcadia South on that same trip and it is pretty, pretty good; but a whole level down from the Loop.

Hey John! I'm also in Winston. Typically play in Winston and High Point but travelling to Raleigh this week to tee it up with a couple other egg heads. We should get out sometime.
