That's an awkward one for sure, especially if you haven't seen the hole before. Especially tough if you're playing in the afternoon when the suns coming down and you're staring straight into the sun while trying to track your ball to a blind landing zone.

OCC is one of those that you could probably argue how much credit goes to Maxwell. It was routed by Wayne Stiles and then he came in after. They bill it as a Maxwell course but I have seen sources that say he only touched about 5-7 holes there with a major part of his work being the modification of holes 5-7. Keith Foster did do an amazing job there of continuing with the Maxwell principles in his renovation. Probably goes to the debate of who you credit a course to if multiple architects have had hands on it.

Hey Craig! I live up in the Parkville area and play up in St. Joseph mostly. Would definitely be interested in getting together.

30, first child on the way, no interest in fighting. I moved to Louisville in early 2019 and have really enjoyed it here, even if the Metro courses leave a lot to be desired. :) My wife and I are moving to Shelbyville this month before the kiddo arrives. Always happy to get together for a round, especially if it's at Nevel Meade, Heritage Hill or Chariot Run!

I haven't played enough of the new stuff outside of Wisconsin to really have much of an overall take. But if I was planning a trip right now, the newer stuff in SC would be at the top of my list to check out.

Market better? I've only been once and it was with in-Laws on vaca. I snuck away to play True Bkue and Caledonia. Loved them and would like to go back as I didnt fully appreciate them 7 years ago. I know there are a few other good courses to see now but it feels like their rep is not great. Even in 2018 there was tons of graveyards of courses.

Have you played it with modern's yet, or just hickories? Loved it with hickories, but feel I need to give it a spin with moderns to take advantage of some lines I was too afraid to challenge with hickories.

I think I've played three, and I prefer Old Town to both Crystal Downs and Prairie Dunes. Not sure which I like more of the latter two, but I need to get back to CD sometime soon. Not necessarily Maxwell's fault, but in late summer I thought the gunch at PD was too penal. Not sure how they get a more playable native like we get at some courses in Northeast Michigan (Chicago guy, but member at a club in the Traverse area). I hate the 17th at CD, so it loses some points from me there. OTC was awesome though. Great atmosphere, wonderful piece of property, very playable. Love the stretch of maintained fairway stretching from the right side of #4 basically all the way down to 8/17 green and up to 9/18. 7th and 17th holes were probably favorites there.
