After a week off, the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall continues this week in paradise at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, held once again at Port Royal.
This is one of the most difficult events to predict on Tour each year with its high variance. Port Royal is a very short course, measuring just beyond 6,800 yards. The only true defense is wind, which is projected to wreak havoc on players for at least a few days this week. Being on the right side of a potential weather draw could mean the difference between winning the tournament or finishing 12th. When it comes to lack of predictability, I always lower my bet sizes and make fewer bets than a standard week on Tour, and I suggest you do the same. Let’s take a look at two players to target this week:
Seamus Power: Top 30, -120
Seamus Power has never finished worse than 37th in six appearances at Port Royal, which includes 23rd or better in his last four starts, highlighted by a win in 2022. He is an excellent player in the wind whose strength is short irons and wedges, which makes Port Royal a great fit. Power enters this week in good form, finishing 21st and seventh in his last two events this fall.
Ben Kohles: Top 30, -115
If you are an avid reader of this article, you should not be surprised by this pick. I have been riding Ben Kohles for months now, and his price has not been adjusted in the market to where it should be. He has finished in the top 30 in each of his last 10 events. He hits the ball straight and is an above-average short iron and wedge player. In a weak field of only 120 players, I don’t understand how he is only priced at -115 to finish top 30. Let’s keep riding that train to earn some more Kohles cash.
