Your Weekly Question

I had the privilege to accompany a group of FEGC members to Bermuda this week to visit Mid Ocean Club, Port Royal, and experience all the island has to offer. Standing on the 18th tee at Mid Ocean, I found myself looking out over the Atlantic Ocean with a distinct feeling of awe and appreciation for the opportunity to be there. It was not lost on me that very few golfers will ever see C.B. Macdonald's island design and I had to stop for a moment to take it all in. Never in my life did I think I would ever be standing there. Hell, I didn't know where Bermuda was until we scheduled the trip there last summer.

I say all this because while it hasn't always been while overlooking an ocean, there have been plenty of times in my life that I've stopped to appreciate a moment on a golf course. Whether it was a special round with my dad or a moment at a local muni with a stranger that turned into a memorable day, there are times in all of our golfing lives where we have to appreciate the moment. So my question: when is the last time you stopped to look around and appreciate a moment on a golf course? I'm hoping it wasn't that long ago, but if it was, let's make a memory together some time soon.
