This Week's Question

Many of us are probably familiar with the Change Adoption Curve, a way of categorizing individuals in their willingness to adapt to new technology and/or changes in the ecosystem. There are the innovators who make teh change(s), early adopters, early majority late majority, and laggards who eventually come around.

This week, I got to thinking about how this applies to new golf course builds and golf course architecture at large. The vast majority of us will never actually have the ability to affect change in the golf course architecture industry, but many of us can help have a say in what is viewed as successful. Obviously our voices will be heard by different numbers of people, but everyone's opinion is valid. So my question, where do you see yourself when it comes to new architecture trends and eagerness to see new builds? Are you willing to travel at the drop of a hat to see the latest course? Are you someone who wants to stay up to date on information but waits until others have seen it before trusting that it's worth your time to go see? Some of this depends on economic impact to each individual of course, but let's just focus on your approach to golf course news.
