If you were starting a franchise tomorrow, what Cub player would you take and why is it PCA?

I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit lately. I was talking to a member at my club who plays competitively (state Ams, Senior Ams), and I knew he had just played a state competition at Landmand. Naturally, I asked him how he liked the course. “Hated it, never want to go back” was the response. I was a little shocked, but asked why. His response was that good shots ended up with random results - i.e. - it wasn’t a “fair” test for competitive golfers. The Scottie sirens were going off in the back of my head, but I kind of get where he is coming from. I play to have fun and I love “quirky”, and Landmand is an absolute playground for me. He plays to test his game against others, and doesn’t feel like random bounces and huge contours properly test skill. There is probably a happy medium, but not everyone wants the same thing out of golf, so it’s hard to please everyone.

The restoration at Pasa looks amazing but why why why does everyone insist on blindingly white bunker sand? It looks so out of place.

Do yall think there’s a surprise trade lurking anyway? What is a sneaky move that you think an eventual World Series team makes? Thinking along the lines of the Cubs acquiring Pierce Johnson and Raisel Iglesias, etc. to bolster their pen depth and help them reach the fall classic.

As a long time (since the 90s) St. Louis Cardinals fan, I’d love to know what some non-fans (or haters) think the team should do moving forward. Couple of questions: 1. Does Ollie Marmol have a job moving forward? 2. Also, should the incoming GM just completely clean house? 3. Can they still get value for Arenado and/or Helsley? Thanks,

Theres only a handful of unlucky outcomes on a course in my mind and they relate to manmade items. Hitting the flagstick and hitting a sprinkler head. Everything else is just an undesireable result to an off shot or poor analysis.

I watch 0 baseball. Give me a couple stats/facts I can use to look smart at the Twins vs Yankees game during the MN field trip 😅
