This week, we head to the Wells Fargo which is normally hosted at Quail Hollow but is not this year due to work being done on the course in preparation for the PGA Championship. This week’s venue is Eagle Point GC which looks to be an awesome course based on first glance. It’s a super exclusive private club with an Augusta like feel due to the immaculate conditions and contours. Since no events have been hosted at this course, we can’t rely on our friend Mr. Course History this week. With that being said, I suggest going a bit lighter this week on DraftKings or your other bets and save it for the Players next week. Below are some picks for this week. Follow me on Twitter @friedeggpaulie for updates as the week goes on.

Dustin Johnson $13,000
I think many people will be scared away from DJ this week due to his injury at Augusta and the fact that he is $2,000 more than any other player. Those reasons want me to roster him even more. This is your chance to get DJ against a weak field at around 15% ownership.
Alex Noren $6,600
In order to fit DJ in the lineup, we need some cheap options. Somehow, the 12th ranked player in the world, Noren, is only $6,600. That’s more than enough of a discount for me to blindly put him in my lineup this week.
Harold Varner $6,300
Varner is a volatile player that can make a lot of birdies which is great for DK scoring. He is familiar with this type of golf course having played at East Carolina University. He also has four top 40s in his last five individual events so his game is close.
One-and-Done
Webb Simpson
Simpson has been a member at this course for over 10 years and was a big force behind the one year move to this venue. With a weak field and not many guys knowing the course, he may be the safe pick this week in your league to get a top 10 and maybe sneak away with a win.
Phil Mickelson
If this course truly feels like Augusta, then Mickelson should feel right at home. He succeeds on firm, fast greens and especially on a course that allows some room off of the tee. In a weak field like this week, Mickelson is one of the favorites.
Bill Haas
Haas has played this course multiple times and has been close to some really good golf this year. With a weak field, he might be a good contrarian pick this week in your league as I expect a lot of action on the two other golfers mentioned above.
Longshot: Carl Petterson 150-1
You may be asking why would I say Petterson? Simple answer: he is a member at this club and owns the course record…enough said.
