This week the Tour heads to Harbour Town for the RBC Heritage. This event couldn’t be any more different than the Masters. Players will face a short, tree-lined and at times claustrophobic golf course. They will be forced to be precise off the tee in order to set up the correct angle to attack with their approach shots. The approach shots themselves are critical, as the greens are some of the smallest on Tour. Mishits will require up and downs to save par. If you are trying to profile which type of player will succeed here, look at accurate drivers and elite iron players who are solid at pitching and chipping. Driving distance and putting aren’t as crucial this week as usual. Here are some players to consider:
DraftKings
Patrick Cantlay $9,700
Cantlay played brilliantly over the weekend at Augusta, firing rounds of 64 and 68. He will now try to carry that momentum to Harbour Town, where he has finished seventh and third the last two years. He is an elite iron player and has the ability to make birdies in bunches, which is great for DraftKings scoring.
Sungjae Im $8,400
I’m convinced Im is going to win this year and it very well may be this week. He has four top-seven finishes in his last nine starts. He is one of the best drivers on Tour, which should suit him well as he navigates one of the tightest courses on tour. At $8,400, he is a great pivot from popular players such as Branden Grace, who is a past champion, or Ian Poulter, who contended at Augusta and has been on fire.
One-and-Done
Jim Furyk
Furyk is a great option for One-and-Done leagues this week, as he has finished top eight in seven of his last 13 appearances at Harbour Town. He is the most accurate driver on tour, ranks second in approaches from 50-125 yard, and performs well around the greens. He has knocked on victory’s door a few times this year, including a runner-up effort at TPC Sawgrass, another Pete Dye course.
Ian Poulter
Poulter has finished 18th or better in three of his last four starts at the Heritage. He has finished 18th or better in seven of ten events this year, including 12th at the Masters. He is a great fit for this course, as he is accurate with his irons and has an impeccable short game.
