Well, that was a very interesting week where the majority of the top players missed the cut. This caused absolute carnage for DraftKings, FanDuel, One-and-Done and Vegas bets. However, there were a few bright spots that saved the week. I myself missed out on winning the $50k first place prize on Fanduel’s $4 contest by one player! If you happen to follow me on Twitter (@friedeggpaulie), I hope you hopped on some of the last minute advice to catch some free money. Trey Mullinax was called out Wednesday at 20-1 for a top 20 and 75-1 for a top 10. I’ve heard from many of you who made this bet and took home a bunch of cash as Mullinax recorded a top 10. Follow along @friedeggpaulie to stay up to date on all tournament news as it relates to fantasy golf.
This week, we head to the Travelers where I expect birdies to be flying as players will light this course up since they will have numerous wedge opportunities. We will focus on players who aren’t afraid to take it deep.
DraftKings:

Bubba Watson $8,400
Bubba is flat out too cheap this week. He is the prototypical horse for a course. In his last seven appearances, he has four top fours including two wins. Even though Watson missed the cut last week at Erin Hills, he did show signs of life at the Memorial with a sixth place finish. Watson loves this course as he is able to use his imagination and work the ball off the tee. When Bubba loves a course and feels comfortable off the tee, he succeeds.
Charley Hoffman $7,300
Hoffman has been great as of late and knows how to take it deep. Fresh off a top 10 at Erin Hills, he heads to a course where he has made the last six cuts highlighted by five top 27 finishes. At $7,300, Hoffman has immense upside this week.
Webb Simpson $6,900
Webb has made his last seven cuts at this event. He has been striking the ball well as of late but has been struggling with the putter as shown by his three top 16s in his last six starts. Numerous players who typically struggle on the greens have won here (Watson, Leishman, etc.). At $6,900 he is a consistent option this week with a lot of upside.
One-and-Done
Justin Thomas
I expect Thomas to be chalk city after his high finish last week at the US Open. He finished third here last year and as you know he can make birdies in bunches.
Marc Leishman
If you are looking to pivot off of Thomas, Leishman is a good contrarian pick. Leishman played well the first couple of rounds at Erin Hills but faded over the weekend. He won this event in 2012 and has recorded two other top 11s at this event.
Paul Casey
Casey is another guy who played well at Erin Hills and has had success at this track as he finished top 20 in both of his appearances highlighted by a second place finish in 2015.
Longshot:
Wyndham Clark (400-1, 35-1 top 10)
Clark recently turned professional after finishing up an amazing season at Oregon. Clark is explosive, touting driving distance equal to the game’s longest players and a deft touch around the green. He might draw a bit of inspiration after seeing fellow Oregon Duck Aaron Wise winning this past week.
