Paulie’s Picks: 2025 RSM Classic
Two players to target this week at the final event of the 2025 season

The final event of the PGA Tour’s 2025 FedEx Cup Fall season is upon us. A field of 156 players will head to Sea Island Resort for the RSM Classic in hopes of securing or improving status for the 2026 season. Players will play 18 holes on both the Plantation and Seaside courses before the cut is made and the weekend rounds move exclusively to the Seaside course. These courses favor accuracy and precision more than brute strength and aggression, so players who can place the ball in the correct spot off the tee will face an abundance of short irons with the ability to convert birdies (as long as the wind doesn’t blow too much).
I know it sounds overly simplistic, but I would back players who are striking the ball well with their driver and short irons. Elite distance and putting aren’t necessarily a requirement this week. I would also suggest focusing your bets on players who can be more predictable. Many in this field haven’t played an event in a few months, so let’s take a look at two in-form players to back this week:

Vince Whaley: Top 40, -140
After cashing for us last week, we are back on the Vince Whaley train. The market hasn’t caught on to how well he is playing. He hasn’t missed a cut since the Valero Texas Open in April. He played great last week in the wind en route to a third-place finish. Whaley has finished eighth and 13th at this event the last two years, when he wasn’t as skilled a player as he is now. Back Whaley to end the season with another strong finish.
Seamus Power: Top 40, -110
Seamus Power has quietly flown under the radar in the fall, as he has made all five cuts with 11th and 27th place finishes the last two weeks in Mexico and Bermuda. He now seems to be back to full health after battling injury (he withdrew from this event a year ago, and in his two appearances at this event prior to that WD, he finished in the top five. This seems like a great buy-low spot for Power, who has regained his form that had him ranked inside the top 30 in the world before his injuries.
