Keney Park is excellent. It and Leatherstocking made me resolve to see as many DE courses as possible. He totally put me in a blender at Leatherstocking, but I acquitted myself much better at Keney Park. KP was a highlight on a trip that included Leatherstocking, George Wright, Franklin Park, Little Marion, Triggs, and Wintonbury Hills. The only one I’d slate over KP is GW.

Kettle Forge seems to be confused on it's vision. In the article linked in the above post, they say "Hoffman designed Lost Rail Golf Club near Omaha, Neb., and Mapleton Golf Club in Sioux Falls, S.D. Both are private clubs built by Landscapes Unlimited and are the models for Kettle Forge." “They are the exact same concept — pure golf, no tennis, no swimming,” Kubly said. “Lost Rail is doing fabulous. That membership sold out 10 months before we opened the golf course. Mapleton opens in August and its membership is nearly sold out.” This gives the impression that it will be a golf only club. But then literally right below that the article states. "Kettle Forge will be a golf-centric club with no housing component. The elegant clubhouse will offer amenities such as fine dining, a wellness spa, a cigar and bourbon vault and a business den. "In addition, the club will offer scenic bike and walking trails, road biking routes with GPS guidance, a premium fishing experience and pheasant hunting on a partner game farm — the latter an idea pushed by Stricker, an avid hunter." So I guess this this won't be a pure golf private club, just a golf club that is anti swimming and tennis club and pro fishing and hunting pheasants. It get's better. Then on their website under the "opportunity" tab, they show pictures of a couple walking through a forrest, and a man sitting on a ledge holding a cup a coffee. These aren't images that say "pure golf", but more of a place you could become a member just to get away from the stresses of life and unwind.

That short course at Chechessee is going to get a ton of play in the winter. It can get pretty hard to squeeze in 36 in a day there at that time of year, having the short course options are going to be great for extending your day after playing 18.

Thank you! I was looking at Keney Park down in CT. Looked interesting as a Devereux-Ross

Crumpin Fox is the answer to the specific question, and Taconic if willing to drive an hour each way.

Curious to hear more about this. These days, I'm almost surprised when a new course—especially of the "destination" (private or public) variety—*does* have returning nines.

I think the idea that this course does not have returning nines is pretty interesting. I wonder what the story is there.
