Champion Hill and Wolf River are the best courses on this itinerary. It is a bit of a drive, but Belvedere is well worth it in my opinion. But you can't go wrong playing Champion Hill or Wolf RIver again, they are that much fun.

If the bowling alley was operational it would be 3 eggs in my mind ;)

Only 2 eggs on the course review. Hard pass.
Okay just kidding. Looks incredible!

Looks like an amazing time. Hope I can make it!

I can't say enough good things about Champion Hill. I felt like it was one of the best kept secrets in the state and now the secret's starting to get out. Next year if you're looking for some places to go to spice things up, I would recommend Agaming just north of Elk Rapids. I do a golf trip every year and we go to Agaming and Antrim Dells and it's always a great time. Agaming's Sundance course is awesome. But we usually stop at Champion Hill in the way up.

Amazing pity we're not there until the Friday. Enjoy anyone who can get tickets.
I'll have to go to next years DLF live show instead. Fried Egg world tour.

Just got a message to say it’s already sold out. I wish I’d never mentioned it!😳
Enjoy the Reverse Old (how could you not!). I’m very envious. One of these years!

Hah no worries. We'll be there with our wives. I doubt theyd be happy going to a podcast recording during a time were not golfing. Hopefully I'll get to say hi though since as of now I may not be able to attend any events.

Should have included Charleston Muni and Ocean Course in the radius (OC especially if you can walk after 4:00 when it’s quiet).

Does anyone know what initial members were sold on at the outset of the club? Have to imagine some would be peeved if they were sold on joining a private club only for it to flip to this model a short time later. Of course, this will only bolster the financials and help make the course more successful in the long run.

Not a regular. Sorry for the confusion. Our 2nd trip was to the Grand Rapids area only. This trip will be our first time up in the Arcadia/Beulah area. We didn't play Meadows at Grand Valley State when we were in Grand Rapids though so I'll check it out.

Why not stop at Warren on the way (a slight diversion), then journeyman for cocktails, food, and the putting course after on way back up?

We weren't able to announce it ahead of time so you didn't miss it but I think it's a fun conversation! Jack and Amanda are great

Totally missed this was happening.
Grew up in the same town in NJ as Jack and played a bit of golf with him, HS and other rounds. Good dude. Great player in his own right.

Was bound to happen eventually. Wonder what the next domino to fall will be.
Too many of the private clubs popping up and the economics of golf are not the same they were when these dreams were started.
In general it's a good thing for public golfers who want to see architecturally impressive golf.
Andy will you still be doing the second course there?

since you're a regular, I might add the Meadows at Grand Valley State University to the list as well then since you know about the more notable ones in the area. I believe the Meadows is usually rated pretty highly for college courses and is always in great shape and is challenging.

It looks like I may have jumped the gun. Apologies!
There’s an advanced booking window for St Andrews Links Ticketholders. No doubt the team will be sharing news about the event soon.

Had to circle back after my round here. On top of everything stated above - it’s also hard to overstate how much fun this course is. Had a huge smile on my face the whole time!
