Paulie's Picks: Best Bets for the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow

A trio of bets that could pay out well this week

Min Woo Lee

Now that we have covered some of the favorites and a few longshots, let’s dig into a few of the best bets of the week at the 2025 PGA Championship.

Min Woo Lee & Keith Mitchell: Make the Cut -110

Min Woo Lee and Keith Mitchell are great fits for this course. Both players are top 15 in driving distance, which is paramount on a long, water-soaked Quil Hollow. Mitchell’s only missed cut this season was at the Players by a narrow margin after having his worst putting performance of 2025. Lee has only missed four cuts in the last 24 months.

Xander Schauffele: Top 20 +100

Xander Schauffele has proven his game can succeed at Quail Hollow, with runner-up finishes each of the last two years at the Truist Championship. He ranks top 20 in driving distance and putting and has cashed a top-20 wager in each of his last 12 major starts, as well as his last four events this season.

Phil Mickelson: Top Senior +150

Phil Mickelson is one of five seniors in the field this week. Before digging into Lefty, let’s take a look at his four opponents.

- Shaun Micheel is in the field as a past champion but will likely finish near the bottom of the leaderboard. He hasn’t made the cut in the PGA since 2011 and has only one round in his last six PGA appearances that is better than 5-over.

- Bob Sowards is a PGA Club Professional who has missed the cut in all nine previous appearances at the PGA.

- Richard Bland is in this field after winning the 2024 Senior PGA. Now yes, he has played about the same as Phil on LIV Golf, but Quail Hollow is not a great fit for Bland as he is a short hitter.

- Padraig Harrington has missed eight of his last 11 cuts in the PGA. In all three PGA Tour events he has played in 2025, he has missed the cut by a good margin. He can pound the ball off the tee and has played well the last few years on the Champions Tour, but his current form just isn’t that great.

Phil’s game is a great fit for Quail Hollow as he is able to bomb driver and rely on his creativity to escape from errant shots. He has finished 12th or better in 10 of his 14 starts at this course, and has made the cut in 27 of his 31 career PGA Championships. Now I know he isn’t the player that he was in his prime, but Phil has made the cut in four of his last five PGA’s, including a win at Kiawah in 2021. A made cut this week will likely cash this bet for us. If you do not have access to a Top Senior market, take Phil at +150 to make the cut as an alternate bet.
