Philadelphia may be the most golf-rich city in the country, and the city's most prolific architect is undoubtedly William Flynn. With numerous world-class designs, Flynn's architecture continues to test players on a daily basis. This summer, we get to see it in person as the former U.S. Open venue Philadelphia Country Club opens its doors to Fried Egg Golf Events.

Course Information

Philadelphia Country Club - Host of the 1939 U.S. Open, 2003 U.S. Women's Amateur, and co-host of this year's U.S. Amateur, Philadelphia Country Club is steeped in championship tradition. And it has the land to back it up. Like many William Flynn designs, PCC is a brawny piece of land with wide corridors and bold lines. The course plays around, through, and alongside a central valley with some of the boldest design coming on the ridges surrounding the center. The course underwent renovation work by Jim Nagle in 2023 and 2024, bringing back is eye-popping bunkers and expanding its surfaces to their full potential. It's a property that wows at every turn.

Additional Golf Available

Jeffersonville Golf Club - May 31, 2026 - Designed by Donald Ross in 1931 and restored in the 2000s by Ron Pritchard, Jeffersonville GC is one of the best public golf options around Philadelphia. The course is located about 25 minutes west of Philadelphia Country Club. Tee times begin at Noon ET for $100/player

Lehigh Country Club - May 31, 2026 - Located about an hour outside of town, Lehigh Country Club opened its doors the same year as Philadelphia Country Club in 1927. It traverses a hillside that feeds down to Little Lehigh Creek, a defining characteristic of its routing. It features the classic large Flynn bunkering, plenty of reverse camber, and thrilling shots. Tee times are available beginning at 2:00 p.m. for $295/player. All participants must take a caddie.

Huntingdon Valley Country Club - June 2, 2026 - Another William Flynn design, Huntingdon Valley Country Club is one of Philadelphia's best in every sense of the word. From its firm-and-fast conditioning to its masterful routing, HVCC is an amazing experience from top to bottom. Tee times are available beginning at 11:00 a.m. for $295/player. All participants must take a caddie.

Rolling Green Golf Club - June 2, 2026 - One of William Flynn's boldest (sensing a trend?), Rolling Green Golf Club was recently renovated by Gil Hanse and now features some of the most demanding examples of golf course architecture. It's a terrific test, one that you'll be certain to remember. Tee times are available beginning at 1:00 p.m. for $325/player. All participants must take a caddie.

Philadelphia Cricket Club - June 2, 2026 - Designed by A.W. Tillinghast, the Wissahickon Course at Philadelphia Cricket Club is one of the finest in the great architect's portfolio. The course doesn't occupy the most dramatic land in the world, but it's subtle movement combined with Tillinghast's architecture make it one of the area's best. Last year, the course hosted the PGA Tour's Truist Championship, which was won by Sepp Straka. Tee times are at 10:00 a.m. for $325/player.
