2027 FEGC East Lothian Trip
Details and information regarding Fried Egg Golf Club's trip to East Lothian, Scotland in 2027

Many American golf tourists make the mistake of doing too much on a Scottish Golf Trip, trying to jam in the big names and leaving themselves dog tired. With that in mind, we've designed a trip that features very few long drives and instead allows for Fried Egg Golf Club members to enjoy all the East Lothian region of Scotland has to offer. With homebases in Troon and Gullane, this trip offers the opportunity to experience everything from Open Championship venues to smalltown Scottish Links.

Travel Information
Airports - All participants will fly into and out of Edinburgh International Airport (EDI). Transportation will be provided from start to finish, including to and from all rounds of golf and between locations.
Hotels - All participants will have premium accommodations throughout our trip. We'll spend the first three nights at the Piersland House in Troon before heading east for four nights at the Mallard Hotel in Gullane.
Course Information
North Berwick Golf Club (West Links) - Among the most iconic venues in Scotland, North Berwick's West Links is as playful as they come. Its influence on golf has now lasted for more than a century and even spurned some of C.B. Macdonald's Ideal Holes. Its architecture emphasizes strategy and angles, often times to an extreme degree as with The Pit hole. It's such a special place that every time the Open Championship is in town, you'll see PGA Tour members sneak over to take a peek.
Royal Troon Golf Club (Old Course) - Most famous for its Postage Stamp par-3 8th hole, this 10-time Open Championship venue is one of the sternest tests in championship golf history. The course is located on the Firth of Clyde on Scotland's west coast, a property with classic linksland features. The routing is out-and-back with a loop at the end that encompasses Nos. 7-11, a stretch that often determines major champions.
Prestwick Golf Club - Home to the first 12 Open Championships and 24 Opens in total, Prestwick is the home of championship golf as we know it today. While the most recent Open Championship at Prestwick occurred over 100 years ago, its roots in the history of golf remain today. Its original form was less formal than the 18 holes that exist today, but six of its original greens and three of its original holes still exist.
Dunbar Golf Club - Tucked between the town of Dunbar and the North Sea, Dunbar is a stunning property whose current links date back to the 1850s. Like many other courses in Scotland, its architectural roots can be traced back to Old Tom Morris and James Braid. Its not as wide as other courses in the area, but its as true a linksland test as you'll find and one with a ton of exposure to the elements.
Gullane Golf Club - No. 1 - Known as the Championship Links at Gullane, the No. 1 course has a unique history as no one truly knows who built it. Regardless, its architecture wows to this day and offers a unique property with more elevation change than many in the area. From its high points, you can see more than 100 golf holes across East Lothian.
Gullane Golf Club No. 3 - An intentional changeup to the other courses at Gullane, the No. 3 course features more eccentric green complexes and a shorter layout. It's an opportunity to score after a serious test on Nos. 1 or 2, but the No. 3 course has plenty of intrigue around the greens to keep your interest.
Western Gailes - Another classic Scottish Links without the length of modern designs, Western Gailes is a true out-and-back routing that presses you into the dunes and uses its natural terrain as the challenge. Classic Scottish pot bunkers impact nearly every green complex, although there are plenty of other holes that use the ground to feed balls away from the putting surfaces.
Kilmarnock Golf Club - While not directly on the coast like many other famous Scottish links designs, Kilmarnock is every bit a links test. Its wide corridors, unique features and burns, and trees (!) give the golfer a different look at Scottish golf that you don't otherwise see.
There is also the opportunity to play Turnberry on this trip. This comes at an additional fee. Details will be communicated to those selected for the trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the registration process work?
Due to the limited spots available on the trip, we are using a lottery for this registration. FEGC members can register as a single, twosome, or foursome for the lottery. At least one player of the twosome has to be an FEGC member and at least two players of a foursome have to be FEGC members.
Can I sign up a non-FEGC member?
Yes. If you register for a twosome, you are allowed to bring one non-FEGC member. If you register for a foursome, two players in the group are allowed to be non-FEGC members.
Is lodging included?
Yes, seven nights of lodging are included on the trip. Participants will stay at The Arran House in the heart of St. Andrews.
Is airfare included?
No, participants will organize their own airfare. We'll take transportation from there!
Is ground transportation included?
Absolutely. Once you get yourself to EDI, we'll have a van waiting and organize all transportation between the hotel and the golf.
Why is there a price range for the estimated cost?
This trip is priced at the current USD to £ exchange and is dependent on the exchange rate leading into the trip. The quote is valid as long as the exchange rate stays within $0.05 on either side of the current rate the price will be valid. If the exchange rate falls outside that parameter we will reprice the trip. The final price will also be adjusted should any course change rates (higher or lower) between now and the trip.
How does payment work?
Upon being selected from the lottery, a $3,000 deposit per player is due to secure your spot. The balance will be due approximately four months ahead of the trip. Participants will be sent invoices with the option to use ACH payments or use a credit card with an additional processing fee.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds will be issued only when the spot on the trip is replaced by another FEGC member. At that time, a refund will be issued minus any processing fees incurred.
