2027 Fried Egg Golf Club Southwest Ireland Trip
Details and information regarding Fried Egg Golf Club's trip to Southwest Ireland in the summer of 2027
.jpg)
The Southwest Coast of Ireland is where American golf travel boomed. With huge dunes and some of the most isolated — and worthwhile — excursions anywhere in the world, this region of Ireland presents a distinctly unique golf trip. Next summer, in peak conditions, we're taking our second trip to the region to see what it's all about. The courses involved will include Ballybunion (x2), Lahinch, Waterville, Tralee, and Dooks.

Travel Information
Airports - All participants will fly into and out of Shannon Airport (SNN). Transportation will be provided from start to finish, including to and from all rounds of golf and between locations.
Hotels - Participants will be treated to great accommodations throughout the trip. You'll spend the first two nights at the Lahinch Coast Hotel in downtown Lahinch and then move over to the Killarney Plaza Hotel for the final five nights in the bustling town of Killarney.
Course Information
Dooks Golf Club - Dooks is a genuine Irish golf experience right off the bat. Golfers are treated to everything you'd want from an Irish course: dunes, seaside holes, mountain backdrops, and wind. The club has a local flavor to it that welcomes you in and the views are some of the best you'll experience on the trip.
Tralee Golf Club - The saying goes that Arnold Palmer said "I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine" after leaving Tralee. That sentiment somewhat bears out as the back nine at Tralee is one of the most eye-popping pieces of land you'll ever play golf through. With huge dunes and a mountain backdrop, Tralee offers a wild experience that you'll always remember.
Waterville Golf Links - Waterville is a journey to get to but worth it in every sense. Tucked out on a peninsula deep on the west coast, the course is home to an extremely unique piece of land and setting unlike many in the world of golf. It's scenery is unmatched, but the drive in may be even better. It's as storied a championship links as they come in this area of the world.
Ballybunion Golf Club - With large dunes throughout the property, Ballybunion can feel like you're playing golf on the moon at times. But it doesn't begin that way. A subtle start of the more benign part of the property sets you up for the reveal of the dunes and sea later in the round, executing on a clever routing that excites throughout.
Lahinch Golf Club - As far as thrilling golf courses go, Lahinch is up near the top. The course is full of blind shots and daring questions. It has a mix of holes that date back to Old Tom Morris while others on the back nine are "newer" yet fit in seemlessly with the surrounds. In our Fried Egg Golf Course Profile, Cameron Hurdus said of the course "As a pure golf experience, Lahinch is as good as it gets."

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the registration process work?
Due to the limited spots available on the trip, we are using a lottery for this registration. FEGC members can register as a single, twosome, or foursome for the lottery. At least one player of the twosome has to be an FEGC member and at least two players of a foursome have to be FEGC members.
Can I sign up a non-FEGC member?
Yes. If you register for a twosome, you are allowed to bring one non-FEGC member. If you register for a foursome, two players in the group are allowed to be non-FEGC members.
Is lodging included?
Yes, seven nights of lodging are included on the trip. You'll spend the first two nights at the Lahinch Coast Hotel in downtown Lahinch and then move over to the Killarney Plaza Hotel for the final five nights in the bustling town of Killarney.
Is airfare included?
No, participants will organize their own airfare. We'll take transportation from there!
Is ground transportation included?
Absolutely. Once you get yourself to Shannon, we'll have a van waiting and organize all transportation between the hotel and the golf.
Can I book caddies?
Yes, ahead of the trip we will coordinate with all participants and make sure any and all loopers are set up ahead of time. Participants are required to pay caddies directly. Caddies are not included in the price of the trip.
Why is there a price range for the estimated cost?
This trip is priced at the current USD to € exchange and is dependent on the exchange rate leading into the trip. The quote is valid as long as the exchange rate stays between 5% on either side of the current rate the price will be valid. If the exchange rate falls outside that parameter we will reprice the trip. The final price will also be adjusted should any course change rates (higher or lower) between now and the trip.
How does payment work?
Upon being selected from the lottery, a $3,000 deposit per player is due to secure your spot. The balance will be due approximately four months ahead of the trip. Participants will be sent invoices with the option to use ACH payments or use a credit card with an additional processing fee.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds will be issued only when the spot on the trip is replaced by another FEGC member. At that time, a refund will be issued minus any processing fees incurred.

Course Overview
Lahinch Golf Club is a sort of religious experience—captivating raw dune golf, a surfing-centric village almost contiguous with the course, and goats tottering around the property
