Itinerary

November 7, 2026 - Alabama at LSU (Time TBA)

TBA - The SEC schedule will be announced well ahead of the game, but we know this game will be either an afternoon or evening affair. All participants will be sent tickets to their phone ahead of time. Tickets cannot be resold.

November 8, 2026 - Optional Meetups

TBA - With a day in between the game and the golf, we will be helping to organize some meetup opportunities around New Orleans. Whether you want to play golf, see the sites around town, or meetup for NFL action, we'll provide the chance to do so.

November 9, 2026 - Metairie Country Club

7:30 a.m. - Arrivals

8:30 a.m. - Shotgun Start, Best Ball Competition

1:00 p.m. - Lunch

2:00 p.m. - Shotgun Start, Free Play

6:00 p.m. - Awards, appetizers, and drinks

Format

Two-person team best-ball competition. The morning round on November 9 will be a best-ball competition of pairs with prizes available to Gross and Net divisions. The afternoon will be a free-play round where everyone can play as much golf as they want (up to 36 holes) and experience all that Metairie has to offer.

Course Information

Metairie Country Club

Located in the heart of New Orleans, Metairie Country Club opened for play over 100 years ago in 1925. It was Seth Raynor's only design in the state and undoubtedly the best around. Over the years, the Great Depression and flooding issues required concessions and renovations at the club, causing much of Raynor's work to disappear. Following Hurricane Katrina, the club, like the city itself, rebuilt and persevered. Damage caused by the storm was widespread and an entirely new clubhouse needed to be built. It was in the late 2010s that the club had recovered to the point of being able to dedicate funds to the golf course, and they brought in architect Brian Silva for a "transformative restoration" project ahead of their centennial anniversary. Today, a completely overhauled design reflects Raynor's original with template holes, width, and fascinating green complexes.

Travel Information

AIRPORTS - Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is your best bet for flights. LSU is about an hour west of New Orleans but Metairie Country Club is just a few minutes from the airport.

HOTELS -There are plenty of affordable lodging options around the Metairie area. If you are looking to be closer to Downtown New Orleans, Hotel Mazarin and The Canopy are great options and still a short drive to the course. If you'd prefer the quiet part of town (if there are any) The Residence Inn and The Courtyard both by Marriott are solid choices and also keep home base close to the course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an FEGC member to sign up? Nope! Fried Egg Golf Club members receive a 24-hour early access period beginning on November 9. After that, any Fried Egg Golf newsletter subscriber is able to register for the event.

Can I just sign up for the golf? - This event is more of a cultural affair so all participants must sign up for the full experience.

Can I just sign up for the game? - See above.

Can I sign up as a single? - Yes! Historically, about 30-40% of our fields are singles who we pair up based off similar skill levels and competitive interest.

How many spots can I reserve? - Each FEGC member can reserve up to two spots during early registration. If tickets are available after the early-registration tickets, orders of up to four spots will be accepted.

Is there a handicap requirement? - Absolutely not. There is a pace requirement, but as long as you play quickly we are happy to have anyone and everyone participate in our events.

Can women enter? - Of course! When we said anyone and everyone we meant it.

What is your refund policy? - Refunds can be requested up to 30 days out of the event. Your registration will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee.
