Registration Information
Due to the smaller field size, the FEGC South Bay Road Trip will be filled via a lottery. A total of 24 spots are available on the trip.
1. If you'd like to participate in the event at Pasatiempo regardless of whether you win the lottery for the Road Trip, please register during the early registration period for both the Event and the Lottery for the Road Trip. Those selected for the Road Trip will pay an additional fee separate from that paid for the Pasatiempo Event. You can register for the Lottery either on this page or on the Pasatiempo Event Page.
2. If you only want to participate in the Pasatiempo Event if you win the lottery for the full Road Trip, please only register for the Lottery during the early-access period. If you register for the event itself and then WD should you not win the lottery, your registration will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. Our advice would be to not wait until after you know if you won the lottery to register for the event itself as there may not be additional spots available. Lottery winners will be notified on Thursday, February 19.

Course Information
Pasatiempo Golf Club - Located in the hills above Santa Cruz, Alister MacKenzie's Pasatiempo is a daring example of Golden Age architecture. It bucked many conventions for its time, including its closing par 3, yet still featured MacKenzie's iconic green and bunker shaping. The course is routed on a steep piece of land that features roughly 300 feet in elevation change, but because the Good Doctor's creative routing the course doesn't feel overly taxing. Pasatiempo certainly has its demanding climbs like the iconic par-3 3rd and long par-4 11th, but it also features generous downhill holes and brilliant use of the land. Its back nine is undeniably one of the best in golf, and yet the front boasts some of the most eye-popping holes (and MacKenzie's house). Renovated by Jim Urbina in 2023-2024, Pasatiempo is growing into its third year of its refreshed look and will be a sight to behold come July.
Stanford Golf Course - Designed by George Thomas and William F. Bell, the Stanford Golf Course is one that isn't often seen by the general public. The course is exclusive to students, faculty, alumni, and their guests, and features design worth protecting. Located just southwest of campus, the course occupies a diverse property that uses its land and natural hazards in varying ways. From it's dramatic first tee shot over Junipero Serra Blvd. to centerline trees to many uses of of the San Fracisquito Creek, this is a routing that always keeps you on your toes.
Lake Merced Golf Club - A club with a long and winding history, Lake Merced Golf Club was founded in 1922 and renovated by Alister MacKenzie shortly thereafter. Multiple redesigns and reroutings have occurred in the years since, most recently with Gil Hanse. In 2020, Hanse and his team reshaped the landforms, restored green complexes to their old style, and brought back MacKenzie's intent in a historical renovation.

Travel Information
AIRPORTS - We recommend that everyone fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for the trip. While Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is an option, the construction of the trip makes for an easy exit from SFO after our day at Lake Merced.
LODGING - There are two options for this road trip. The first is to set up shop in the middle, near Redwood City, and drive between 20 minutes and an hour to the courses every day. The other option is to stay in Santa Cruz for a couple nights, then move up to a hotel between Stanford and Lake Merced for the final couple nights. Hotels are readily available in all situations and we know everyone has different preferences so we'll be leaving the decision to you all!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign up as a single? - Yes! Historically, about 30-40% of our fields are singles who we pair up based off similar skill levels and competitive interest.
Is there a handicap requirement? - Absolutely not. There is a pace requirement, but as long as you play quickly we are happy to have anyone and everyone participate in our events.
Are we walking or using carts? - We *highly* recommend walking every course if possible. Carts are included and can be used if you so choose.
Can women enter? - Of course! When we said anyone and everyone, we meant it.
What is your refund policy? - Refunds for the FEGC South Bay Area Road Trip will be issued when your spot is filled on the waitlist. Your registration will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee
