If you’d like to create Fried Egg cartoons, I would encourage that

Im just now realizing the board for local meetups is called cartons, and not cartoons. I figured I was just out of the loop on some old journalism lingo.
Cartons makes a lot more sense.

18 now is such an awkward finisher. I much preferred the Par 5 finish before they flipped the 9s.

To be honest, after the crash in 2008, I was down for a while because I didn't think I would ever have a chance to have a run like that again. Arguably, though, the last few years [beginning with St. Patrick's] have given it a run.

What a run. Two on the Oregon cliffs. The 04 ocean trio. And getting to build next to NGLA/Shinny and Muirfield/NB
In roughly the same number of years as the Beatles recording career.

2001: Pacific Dunes
2002: The Sheep Ranch v1
2003: Stonewall (North), The Rawls Course - both signed up before Pacific opened
2004: Cape Kidnappers, Barnbougle Dunes, St. Andrews Beach
2005: Tumble Creek, Stone Eagle
2006: Ballyneal, Sebonack
2007: The Renaissance Club
2008: Rock Creek
Those were some very good years.
Link to commentTHREE eggs! Damn, so much for staying under the radar!
I had a bunch of friends come and play there the day before the Renaissance Cup at The National (Gunnamatta), and the day after an outing at Royal Melbourne (West), just a few months after the Presidents Cup. It couldn't have been set up to overshadow the course more. Yet, at the end of the whole thing, several of those friends were still buzzing about St. Andrews Beach!

Yeah, the sponsor exemptions are locked in Monday afternoon, even if they would have gotten in with later WD's.

Many certainly consider me an egghead, but who is asking

This is awesome! If you don't mind I'd like to try to create a webpage to make the visualization a little easier and more dynamic. Once I get it going I can probably also create a lightweight backend to input data and relationships between architects. Amazing start though!

Soaked overseed plus "possible beneficial rainfall"? Sounds like you can take it to the bank.

As someone who lives in the northeastern US, the prospect of not having golf to watch during January bums me out. We have a long enough drought between majors with the PGA being in May. This just makes it worse.

Thank you for everyone’s feedback and encouragement! I finally had some time this week to work on the tree, and I decided to recreate it in Google Slides so it can be more of a FEGC community project. For now, I’ve set the permissions to “view only,” but just let me know if you’d like editing access.
I thought it might be a cool idea to have a comment bubble for each architect that lists all the courses attributed to them, but I wasn’t quite able to figure that out.
…Which got me thinking that it might also be interesting to have a Google Earth feature showing where the courses were for each architect. You could even assign different layers to each architect or time period to compare them geographically. Something like this.

I feel like I’m already a little over my skis in terms of technology, so if anyone has a better way to organize or create all of this, please let me know. Again, thank you for all the feedback and I’d love to hear what you think!

Even the NFL has a product that is on every week for over 20 straight weeks. I think consistency helps a lot. I thought one of the biggest mistakes the NBA made was adding so many off days between games during playoff series.

Trinity Forest - AT&T Byron Nelson (2018-2020)
I think if they were able host for more than a couple years they would have seen the weather conditions that make that course really fun to play/watch.

Don’t want to hijack this thread but figure it would be a good place to ask. I’m coming into Raleigh for an exam on 3/20 and have a free day around Raleigh and surrounding area on 3/21. Wanted to play golf somewhere interesting and looking for suggestions.
I’m assuming pinehurst 2,4,8,10 are out of the question. It’s just me on Saturday. Thought about seeing about a solo tee time at SP or PN but wanted suggestions here first.
On 3/22 and 23 me and some buddies are playing TR, MP, and TR again.

Was able to see flight. It’s an indoor Trackman hitting bay with an open garage door to see the flight. Don’t get to feel turf interaction though if that’s a make or break for you

Were you able to see ball flight, or did you get fit indoors? Were you measured for length and lie considerations?
