U.S. Open Viewing - Tired? Need a break? We'll have the U.S. Open on the TVs in the clubhouse for those who want to kick up their feet.

Format

Get your fill. The 2026 Fried Egg Solstice Event is solely concerned with how much golf you play, not how well you play. Prizes will be handed out to anyone who completes at least 54 holes, with better prizes available for those who complete 72 holes. This is a day of community meant to kick off the weekend in style.

Course Information

Diamond Springs Golf Course - One of many Mike DeVries designs in Michigan, Diamond Springs is as unique as they come. The humble course is a model for municipal golf with its simple maintenance practices, enjoyable architecture, and wonderful staff. When you're at Diamond Springs, you feel like you're home. As Garrett Morrison wrote in his Course Profile of Diamond Springs, "this is public golf done right."

Additional Golf Available

The Mines - Organized tee times on Saturday, June 20 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Players will reserve their spots in the add-on section but pay at the course. Tee times are $55 to walk, $75 to ride.

More Golf - More details will be announced about our optional meetup, but to get things started, we would highly recommend the other great golf within an hour of Grand Rapids. Michigan's West Coast - Southwest Michigan is one of the country's great kept secrets. Many Midwesterners know about the small towns in this part of the world, but for those coming in from out of town, we'd highly recommend spending some time visiting one of these towns on your trip. Saugatuck, South Haven, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph's, New Buffalo, and more are all wonderful stops in the summer and make for a terrific Saturday.

Travel Information

AIRPORTS - The closest airport to Diamond Springs is Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids. It is about 45 minutes from Diamond Springs. You could also drive from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County

HOTELS - Diamond Springs is in a rural area but it is within 30 minutes of a couple great Michigan towns in Grand Rapids, Holland, and Saugatuck. We recommend staying in Grand Rapids as we'll be doing our meetup there the day prior to the event, but you can stay in any town. Grand Rapids has plenty of affordable options in the city, including the Homewood Suites and Courtyard by Marriott. You could also go for a premium option in the JW Marriott. Holland has plenty of options as well, including the TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn. Saugatuck is more of a quaint lake town on the shores of Lake Michigan but it has plenty of smaller BnBs and motels. It's a wonderful town for those who want to experience a less busy area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an FEGC member to sign up? Nope! Fried Egg Golf Club members have 24 hours of early registration but everyone is welcome to enter our events. If an event is full, toss your name on a waitlist and we'll fill as people need to drop out.

Can I sign up as a single? - Yes! Historically, about 30-40% of our fields are singles. You'll fit right in.

How many spots can I reserve? - Each FEGC member can reserve up to two spots during early registration. Public registrations can reserve up to four spots.

Is there a handicap requirement? - Absolutely not. There is a pace requirement, but as long as you play quickly we are happy to have anyone and everyone participate in our events.

Can women enter? - Of course! When we said anyone and everyone we meant it.

What is your refund policy? - Refunds can be requested up to 30 days out of the event. Your registration will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee
